The width of SIMPSON’s seatbelt is 75mm (3in). It is a very strong construction.
Its size is optimal for Miata/MX-5.
In the case of the rotary-type lock that has been newly designed in 2005 there is no lever and by this it becomes a smooth construction.
With the cam lock and the rotary the submarine belt can be used as an option which makes it possible to use it as a 5PT one.

In sports driving the 3 most important things are the roll bar, bucket seat and the seat belt.
We recommend SIMPSON’s seat belt.
When setting up the seat belt in Miata/MX-5 with a narrow inside, the biggest problem is the shoulder belt’s anchor.
Where should the eyebolt be placed?
Many people try to solve this problem by making a hole on the back side of the sheet that folds the hood.
Another solution is making a hole in the carpet.
However, the problem is the iron plate’s hardness.
As you can see the plate is very thin.
If you choose this solution be sure to get some reinforcement. For example a thick iron plate to the trunk room.
The emerging problem is the interference between the open hood screen and the belt.
At Maruha, we used SIMPSON’s belt.
1. It is possible to fasten it around the brace bar and for this reason there is no need for the eyebolt.
2. It is a type that is fastened around the brace bar and even if you use any belt it is possible to start the shoulder belt from the headrest vertical direction.
3. In the eyebolt type’s case it becomes fixed and cannot respond to the seat’s shape’s change.
4. With the tied part the belt’s length can be widely adjusted. You can drop the rest of the belt to the seat’s back.
5. It can be adjusted at two places because even the length around the waist is adjustable.
6. The waist belt is a hook type one.
The eyebolt can be attached by using the seatbelt’s hole.
7. The belt’s width is 75mm (3in) and it can be set up easily.
8. It is a very good system from which the belt can be removed easily.
9. It can be changed to 5PT.
